SUMMARY:Improv: Narrative
DESCRIPTION:IMPROV: NARRATIVE\nwith Michael Charrois\n\n  \nThis dynamic drama workshop for adults explores the fundamentals of narrative improvisation through collaborative storytelling techniques like accepting\, advancing\, and overcoming obstacles. Participants will build essential life and performance skills such as teamwork\, communication\, adaptability\, and problem-solving. Led by arts educator Michael Charrois\, the workshop includes fun games and exercises to develop characters and narratives without the need for memorization. Students will explore physicality\, voice\, personality traits\, and relationships to bring authentic characters to life. Scenes will incorporate emotional depth\, vulnerability\, and comedic contrast to enhance audience connection and engagement. The course focuses on narrative improv—a form of spontaneous\, longer-form storytelling that blends humor and emotion for rich\, memorable performances. \n  \nJoin Arts Educator Michael Charrois for an evening of improv and acting focused on the foundational techniques of Narrative Improv. This session will revisit and build upon key concepts introduced in previous classes\, offering participants a chance to reinforce and practice their skills through guided exercises and scene work. \n  \nNarrative Improv centers on spontaneous storytelling in a theatrical format\, blending both comedic and emotional elements. Unlike short-form or traditional long-form improv\, narrative performances are typically longer\, allowing for deeper character development and richer exploration of themes\, relationships\, and emotional arcs. Whether you’re continuing from a previous session or jumping in fresh\, this class offers a dynamic space to grow your improv abilities through focused practice and creative play. \n  \nCLASS INFORMATION  \n3-Session \nTuesday Evenings\, November 10\, 17 & 24 | 6:30 – 8:30PM\n$90/person\nAge 18+ \n\n  \nABOUT OUR EDUCATOR \nMichael Charrois is a professional actor (UBCP/Actra and Equity) with over 30 years of teaching experience.
