SUMMARY:Rehearsal Hall Sessions: Eagle Ex Machina
DESCRIPTION:EAGLE EX MACHINA\n\n \n\nABOUT THE SHOW\n\n\n\n\nEagle Ex Machina is an indigenous alternative rock band based out of western Canada. The band was founded by multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter Matt Cook-Contois to combine a love of rock music and a traditional fiddle upbringing. The music of Eagle Ex Machina features an aggressive approach to songwriting\, guitar and violin proficiency\, and a diverse set of influences to create a unique sonic signature.\n \nThe musical journey of Matt Cook-Contois started on his traditional territory of Misipawistik Cree Nation through the Frontier Fiddling Program. A combination of classroom learning\, the tutelage of his musician Grandfather\, and years of practice culminated in back-to-back finals appearances at the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championship.\n \nMatt then relocated to Vancouver and set his focus on performing and becoming a session recording artist. He got his introduction to the Vancouver music scene by joining the Clay Ravens\, a local indie rock band. He also joined The Sheets\, a talented cover band which holds a residency at the legendary Blarney Stone in Gastown. These musical projects allowed Matt to further hone his skills as a performer\, songwriter\, and singer.\n \nEagle Ex Machina was created in 2020 to capture the musical identity Matt developed throughout his career. The soundscape of Eagle Ex Machina pays homage and draws on influences such as the Foo Fighters\, City & Colour\, Queens of the Stone Age\, and Matthew Good Band while incorporating a modern approach to Canadian Fiddling.\n\n \n\n\n\n\nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE:\nAdult $29 | Students/Senior: $19 \nBOX OFFICE: 604.927.6555 | Open Monday – Saturday\, 12 – 5PM

SUMMARY:Rehearsal Hall Sessions: Śṛṅgāra Lahiri {Ripples of Desire}
DESCRIPTION:ŚṚṄGĀRA LAHIRI\n{Ripples of Desire}\nAn Evening Of Bharatanatyam with Live Music\n\n \n\nABOUT THE SHOW\n\n\n\n\n\nŚṛṅgāra Lahiri {Ripples of Desire}: is an offering shaped by lineage\, rigor\, and deep practice. Anchored in the traditional format of a margam (a formalized sequence of choreographies)\, śṛṅgāra (erotic love) is explored as an inner unfolding where desire becomes a landscape for longing\, where devotion softens the body\, and intimacy reveals emotional architectures that are deeply human and quietly transcendent.\n \nThe compositions in this margam move through subtle shades of connection and separation\, restraint and surrender. Śṛṅgāra is carried in the body through rhythm and gesture\, culminating into spiritual expression. Through precise technique and sustained presence\, the dancer inhabits these emotional states with clarity and depth\, allowing tradition to breathe in the present.\n \nPerformed with live music\, the work unfolds as a dynamic exchange between dancer and musicians\, where rhythm\, melody\, and breath shape each moment in real time. This immediacy underscores Bharatanatyam as a living practice; historically grounded yet continuously renewed through embodiment.\n \nŚṛṅgāra Lahiri invites audiences into an experience that is at once intimate and expansive: a deeply rooted\, rigorously crafted\, and urgently contemporary articulation of Bharatanatyam in its full artistic vitality.\n\n\n \n\n\nABOUT THE COMPANY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n All Choreographies by A. SUMMARY:Music Series: Andrew Collins Trio
DESCRIPTION:THE ANDREW COLLINS TRIO\nDoors 6:30PM | Concert 7:30PM\n \n  \nABOUT THE SHOW \nTheir latest double-album\, 2018’s Tongue & Groove\, grafts 11 vocal cuts (tongues) with 11 instrumentals (grooves) to create a seamless finish. Each cut is milled to perfection and represents a back-to-basics visitation on what the band does best: spontaneity of the stage and rapid-fire\, improvisational exchanges.\n  \n  \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nMando maestro Andrew Collins finds himself – through no actual fault of his own – at the epicentre of Canada’s burgeoning acoustic/roots music scene. He didn’t invent it – but he’s certainly been a contributor\, having co-founded seriously noteworthy Canadian bands like the Creaking Tree String Quartet\, the Foggy Hogtown Boys and\, more recently\, his namesake Trio. That’s not to mention the fact that this prolific\, robust performer – comfortable on mandolin\, fiddle\, guitar\, mandola and mandocello – composes\, produces\, arranges\, writes and teaches across multiple genres\, including a popular collision of folk\, jazz\, bluegrass\, celtic\, and classical. \n  \n  \n\nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!\nAdults: $45 | Seniors: $41 | Students: $16 \n  \nBOX OFFICE: 604.927.6555 | Open Monday – Saturday\, 12 – 5PM

SUMMARY:English
DESCRIPTION:ENGLISH\nPresented by Blackout Art Society \nDirected by Amir N. Hosseini\nBy Sanaz Toossi \n  \nABOUT THE SHOW \nA 2023 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama\, English by Sanaz Toossi is a quietly powerful and deeply human play about four Iranian adults preparing for an English proficiency exam in a storefront classroom in Karaj near Tehran. As they navigate grammar rules and pronunciation exercises\, they also wrestle with the more profound implications of learning a language that represents new opportunities\, personal reinvention\, and\, for some\, a painful detachment from their identity and homeland. With warmth\, humour\, and insight\, the play explores themes of belonging\, cultural displacement\, and the sacrifices made in pursuit of a new life.\n \nABOUT THE BLACKOUT ART SOCIETY\nIn 2013\, Vancouver\, BC\, witnessed the inception of a unique theatrical force: Blackout Theatre. Initially emerging as an ad hoc theatre ensemble\, we passionately set our sights on creating socially aware and pioneering theatre experiences that resonated deeply with the Persian community. With the invaluable contributions of local Persian artists\, our first four years were marked by performances that echoed our cultural heritage and enlightened our audiences.\n \n\nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!\nAdults: $54 | Seniors: $47 | Students: $19 \nCONTENT WARNING\nThis play contains adult language. This play includes themes of prejudice\, discrimination and cultural displacement. \nBOX OFFICE: 604.927.6555 | Open Monday – Saturday\, 12 – 5PM
