SUMMARY:Myths and Mirrors
DESCRIPTION:MYTHS AND MIRRORS\nPresented by Theatrix\n \n\nEvery story has two sides. \n  \nWhen two students stumble across a mysterious book\, they’re pulled into a world where myths\, fairy tales\, and folklore from around the world have been thrown wildly out of order—and may not let them leave unless they can set things right. As they journey through the book and encounter its mythological characters\, they begin to question the stories they’ve always believed—the ones they tell about others\, and the ones they tell about themselves. \n  \nBlending humour\, music\, and characters from diverse cultural traditions\, Myths and Mirrors explores how the stories we tell can divide us or bring us together. In a world quick to judge\, this imaginative production invites audiences to look again\, find the common threads\, and reconsider what they think they see. \n  \n\nCreated and performed by students aged 7 – 13\, this 45-minute show is suitable for all ages. \n \n\n \n \nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!\nAdults: $10 | Seniors & Children under 13: $8 \n\nThis is a rental event organized by Theatrix.

SUMMARY:Tea\, Tour and Textiles
DESCRIPTION:TEA\, TOUR & TEXTILES\n(Age 50+) \nTuesday\, June 09 | 10:30am – 12:30pm \nBy donation. Registration required. Supplies and refreshments provided.  \n  \nWe were excited to host a Tea\, Tour and Textiles on Tuesday\, June 9th\, inspired by the exhibition Lure. Participants engaged in a guided tour and reflective discussion\, followed by a hands-on textile activity led by Wendy. The creative portion invited participants to create a 3D felted fish. \n  \n  \nABOUT THE EXHIBITION  \nLure is a thematic group exhibition that explores fishing as an ancient yet everyday activity—one that spans subsistence\, livelihood\, sport\, and ritual. Featuring work by Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists from across Canada\, the exhibition reflects connections to the Pacific\, Arctic\, and Atlantic Oceans\, as well as the freshwater systems that link them. Together\, the artists examine the social\, cultural\, and ecological significance of fishing from coast to coast to coast.

SUMMARY:Lure Opening Reception: Fishing Kitchen Party!
DESCRIPTION:LURE OPENING RECEPTION: FISHING KITCHEN PARTY\nBring your stories\, songs and fishing lore to celebrate the opening of Lure. Enjoy live music\, good food and warm conversation in the lobby (our stand-in kitchen) of Evergreen Arts and take in the art of Lure\, which looks at fishing through the eyes of six contemporary artists. Share your fishing stories\, poems or song in a thirty-minute open mic session and enjoy live music from Port Moody’s own East Coast transplants Adam and Sarah Faber. \n \nABOUT THE EXHIBITION \nFrom subsistence to livelihood\, from sport to ritual\, fishing links people from coast to coast to coast. This thematic group exhibition includes work by Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists across Canada with ties to the Pacific\, Arctic and Atlantic Oceans\, and the freshwater bodies that flow between. Together the artists explore the complex social and cultural significance of the ancient yet everyday activity of fishing. \nLure is generously supported by the Deux Mille Foundation.
