SUMMARY:Myths and Mirrors
DESCRIPTION:MYTHS AND MIRRORS\nPresented by Theatrix\n \n\nEvery story has two sides. \n  \nWhen two students stumble across a mysterious book\, they’re pulled into a world where myths\, fairy tales\, and folklore from around the world have been thrown wildly out of order—and may not let them leave unless they can set things right. As they journey through the book and encounter its mythological characters\, they begin to question the stories they’ve always believed—the ones they tell about others\, and the ones they tell about themselves. \n  \nBlending humour\, music\, and characters from diverse cultural traditions\, Myths and Mirrors explores how the stories we tell can divide us or bring us together. In a world quick to judge\, this imaginative production invites audiences to look again\, find the common threads\, and reconsider what they think they see. \n  \n\nCreated and performed by students aged 7 – 13\, this 45-minute show is suitable for all ages. \n \n\n \n \nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!\nAdults: $10 | Seniors & Children under 13: $8 \n\nThis is a rental event organized by Theatrix.

Featuring work by Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists from across Canada\, the exhibition reflects connections to the Pacific\, Arctic\, and Atlantic Oceans\, as well as the freshwater systems that link them. Together\, the artists examine the social\, cultural\, and ecological significance of fishing from coast to coast to coast.

SUMMARY:Myths and Mirrors
DESCRIPTION:MYTHS AND MIRRORSPresented by Theatrix \n\nEvery story has two sides. \n \n\n \n \nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!Adults: $10 | Seniors & Children under 13: $8 \n\nThis is a rental event organized by Theatrix.

SUMMARY:Coquitlam Youth Theatre Year-End Performances
DESCRIPTION:  \nCOQUITLAM YOUTH THEATRE YEAR-END PERFORMANCES\nPresented by Place des Arts\n \n \n\nPlace des Arts presents a recital featuring performances by our year-long theatre programs: Coquitlam Youth Theatre\, Junior Coquitlam Youth Theatre and Coquitlam Youth Musical Theatre. Taught and directed by Seamus Fera and Hailey Fowler.   \n  \n Coquitlam Youth Musical Theatre presents Elle in Wonder  \nWritten and Directed by Hailey Fowler\, Inspired by Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland\, by Lewis Carroll.    \n  \n \n  \n  \nDescription: For her tenth birthday\, Elle is hosting a slumber party\, inviting her school friends to share in their first night away from home. While her parents head out for the evening\, they leave the group in the care of Elle’s older sister\, who soon waves away responsibility\, sneaking off with her own friends to go to the movies. Left to their own devices\, the sleepover crew open a pop-up book of Alice in Wonderland. The vivid pictures spark wonder\, allowing their imaginations to grow as the story lifts from the page to play out around them.  \n  \nJunior Coquitlam Youth Theatre presents The Merry Men   \nWritten and Directed by Seamus Fera   \n  \n \n  \nDescription: Inspired by Britain’s original action hero\, The Merry Men takes us to Merry Old England. King Richard the Lionheart is off on crusades\, and his brother is ruling. Join our hero\, the brave and just Robin Hood\, who with his crew of bandits\, foils the pernicious plans of Prince John and his lackey\, the Sheriff of Nottingham. When Maid Marian\, a ward of the court\, encounters Robin Hood\, she must decide between her home and her heart. However\, even heroes have secrets…  \n  \nCoquitlam Youth Theatre presents The Wind In The Willows    \nWritten by Diane Grant\, Adapted from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame\, Directed by Seamus Fera   \n  \n \n  \nDescription: Mole lives underground. His comfortable burrow is a good place for a creature who is small and has poor eyesight. But when he feels the stirrings of spring\, is it time to take a chance? Is it time to go up there? Outside is a scary place. Would he survive? And what if he lost her glasses? But a little courage goes a long way\, and a few brave steps introduce Mole to a world of characters he never knew existed: the mean Weasels\, the loveable Ratty\, the flamboyant Otter\, the kindly Widow Badger\, and the exuberant Mr. Toad of Toad Hall\,  whose hilarious antics get himself and everybody else in and out of trouble time and again in this adaptation of the classic novel.  \n\n \n \nSINGLE TICKETS GO ON SALE MAY 20th!\nAdults: $22 | Students/Seniors: $17 \n\nThis is a rental event organized by Place des Arts.
