Where is Evergreen?

We are located just steps from beautiful Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam and the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain line. Much has changed in Coquitlam’s city centre over the last 30 years! One thing you can count on? A great season of arts presentations & exhibitions, right here in your community.

Our History

Evergreen Arts is a community gathering place for performing and visual arts activities in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Opened in October 1996 by former Coquitlam Mayor Lou Sekora, the design team was headed by Thom Weeks of Architectura, and the contract was completed by Proscenium Architecture. The Centre is owned by the City of Coquitlam and operated by Evergreen Arts Society, a registered charity. Evergreen Arts is located adjacent to Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park, overlooking Lafarge Lake.

Programming at Evergreen Arts includes live theatre, comedy, music, family programming, educational workshops for children and adults, contemporary art gallery exhibitions, and more. We also engage in co-presentations and partnerships in addition to hosting many rental activities. Evergreen Arts serves as the home theatre for Stage 43 Theatrical Society, Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Coastal Sound Music Academy, and is part of the Arts Club Theatre Company touring circuit that brings popular plays to the venue.
