Brandon Isaak is one of Canada premiering blues guitar players on the scene today. In a  world of overdrive pedals and blues rock guitar players playing scales he’s a no nonsense kinda of blues musician who holds true the deep traditions of the plaging the blues the way it was done in the 40’s and 50’s. No wanking, or flashy scales, just pure soul.

This Yukon born songster performs a mixture of deep, spiritual, humorous and catchy songs, always delivered with world class guitar, harmonica and singing. Today’s show also features Duncan, British Columbia singer-songwriter Brandon Isaak Live. Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Isaak is known for his thoughtful and thought-provoking lyrics, which are at turns humorous, introspective and spiritual. A guitar and harmonica player as well as a vocalist, his singing voice is gravelly and raw and can sometimes seem too big for his body. His live shows are heavy on audience-engagement, taking the crowd on an emotional journey that leaves them still humming his melodies long after the set has ended. A 37-year veteran of the blues scene, he has toured Europe 13 times and played in 8 countries over 3 continents.
