Introduction to Film & Television Acting

INTRODUCTION TO FILM & TELEVISION ACTING
with Michael Charrois

Step in front of the camera this fall in this 8-session introduction to Film/TV acting at Evergreen Arts, led by a professional actor. Students will build confidence and practical on-camera skills through a mix of acting exercises, audition practice, improvisation, and filmed scene work.
Each class includes a taped component, beginning with the basics of the slate and camera technique before moving into no-line SOC improv auditions, one-line auditions with improvisation, two-person commercial auditions, and short TV scenes. In the final sessions, students will rehearse, work, and film scenes, applying the tools they have developed throughout the course.
Alongside the recordings, students will participate in acting exercises designed to support presence, spontaneity, listening, and truthful performance for the camera. Students will receive recordings of their work to review their progress and celebrate what they have created.
