Father of the Bride
Presented by Stage 43
By Caroline Francke
ABOUT THE SHOW
Whatever is a father to do? Mr. Banks’ family life has just been upset by the sudden tumultuous announcement that his beautiful little girl Kay is now engaged. Shocked at the realization that one of the young men he’s seen about the house is going to be his son-in-law, panic sets in. Mr. Banks is far from ready to admit that Kay has grown up. Although Mrs. Banks and their sons are as pleased as punch at the news, Mr. Banks slowly sinks into a personal quagmire; he is simply not ready to let her go. This lighthearted comedy gathers momentum as the wedding plan seemingly begins to spin out of control threatening to send Mr. Banks to the poorhouse, all the while upending the once peaceful Banks family home. Caroline Francke’s Father of the Bride is the classic heart-warming father-daughter story that is sure to delight.
