Step into the colourful world of balloon twisting and learn how to transform simple modelling balloons into delightful creatures from the animal kingdom—rendered entirely in latex!
In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll master the basics of balloon twisting, from classic twists like the ball, kidney, and tulip twists to more advanced techniques for shaping and assembling your creations. You’ll start with the ever-popular balloon dog, then move on to crafting cats, giraffes, rabbits, pigs-on-a-stick, weasels, and other four-legged wonders.
Along the way, you’ll also learn how to add a balloon “ball” inside your animals for extra flair and pick up a few lighthearted jokes and presentation tips to bring smiles to your audience.
Perfect for beginners and aspiring entertainers alike, this workshop blends creativity, laughter, and skill-building for an experience that’s as joyful as the art itself.

ABOUT OUR EDUCATOR
Michael Charrois is a professional actor (UBCP/Actra and Equity) with over 30 years of teaching experience. He currently teaches Drama classes for the Evergreen, Burnaby’s Shadbolt Centre Community Programs and has taught Continuing Education classes for the Vancouver School Board.
