IMPROV: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
with Michael Charrois
Arts Educator Michael Charrois invites you to an evening of improv and acting designed to deepen your foundational skills in character development. Building on concepts introduced in the previous session, this workshop will reinforce and expand your understanding through continued practice and new exercises.
Explore physicality, voice, personality traits, relationships, wants, and needs to fully inhabit characters and engage authentically with scenes. You’ll experiment with posture, gestures, facial expressions, and movement to embody characters physically, while also diving into contrasting objectives, conflicting desires, and unexpected alliances to create dynamic, engaging interactions. By bringing genuine emotion and vulnerability into your performance, you’ll enhance authenticity, connection, and comedic contrast—resulting in more memorable, impactful scenes.
