ABOUT THE ARTIST
Yewchi is a Vancouver/Burnaby-based guitarist, composer, and performer whose music blends roots, jazz, blues, folk, and improvisation into warm, expressive solo guitar performances.
His work sits between live performance and attentive sound design, with a focus on tone, space, dynamics, and human-scale listening. Rather than treating music as background noise or spectacle, Yewchi creates performances that are accessible, atmospheric, and responsive to the environment.
Through Yewchi Music, he has performed in venues and public spaces including Frankie’s Jazz Club, The Shipyards, Rocky Point Park, and community events across Metro Vancouver. He has also received a Creative BC Demo Recording Grant and released original music under the Yewchi name.
For outdoor and community settings, Yewchi offers flexible solo guitar performances that can support a relaxed public atmosphere while still bringing a clear live-music presence. His sets move between melodic pieces, gentle grooves, and open improvisation, creating music that welcomes both focused listening and casual gathering.
